Experience:

Mr. Pickett handles all matters related to mining and oil and gas development with a special emphasis on litigation. He has substantial experience with many issues that natural resources companies face, including disputes related to contracts, title, oil and gas leases, and employment arrangements. Mr. Pickett has litigated industry-specific issues, such as farmout agreements, leases, options and preferential rights, joint operating agreements, areas of mutual interest, drilling contracts, surface use matters and regulatory issues.

During both undergraduate and law school, Mr. Pickett worked as a roughneck for various drilling companies throughout the western United States. He started out on the floors and worked his way up to the derricks. His experience has given him a unique, ground-up approach to cases he has litigated for oil and gas companies involving negligence, operator errors and down-hole tool failures.
