Overview

Jeff Welborn applies 45 years’ experience in oil & gas and mining, both in the U.S. and globally, in serving as a mediator/facilitator in disputes and transactions that involve oil & gas, mining and other natural resource matters.

His experience includes natural resources regulatory work, negotiating and drafting mining and oil & gas development agreements, financing arrangements, and conveyance documents and working with geoscientists and senior managers in dealing with the non-technical risks that natural resource projects face globally.

Experience & Results
  • Jeff worked at the senior management level in business development for a large international mining company (1997-2005). He served as a Commissioner (1982-1992) and Chairman (1987-1992) of the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, and as Chairman (1983) of the Mineral Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association.
  • He has been an Adjunct Professor of oil & gas, mining and natural resources law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He has taught in the natural resources area for continuing education seminars and has produced numerous papers for the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation.
  • He is currently on the faculty for a course on Mineral Exploration Management that is presented annually in Denver, Perth and other locations globally.
