Overview
Amelia Marsh represents clients in regulatory and litigation matters pertaining to natural resources, environmental, and commercial issues.
Amelia obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. During law school, Amelia developed significant experience in administrative and environmental law through work at DU’s Environmental Law Clinic, the Colorado Attorney General’s Revenue and Utilities Division, Welborn Sullivan, and the University of Denver Water Law Review, where she served as editor-in-chief. Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Amelia enjoys exploring Colorado’s mountains, spending time with her friends and family, and learning new things.
Experience & Results
- Represented seller of business alleging breach of asset purchase agreement and related tort claims.
- Represented livestock producers affected by the reintroduction of gray wolves in Colorado, including developing wolf damage compensation claims granted by Colorado Wildlife Commission.
- Assisted in the preparation of rulemaking filings for and public comments to Colorado Air Quality Control Commission, including AQCC hearing to develop first-of-their-kind rules aimed at achieving greenhouse gas emission reductions from large industrial and manufacturing sources.
- Analyzed Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resources Conservation and Recovery Act, and Endangered Species Act interpretative and applicability questions for utility, mining, and manufacturing clients.
- Compiled and analyzed Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Colorado solid waste regulations applicable to industrial property to inform clients’ due diligence in potential purchase of such property.
- Assisted in preparation of rulemaking filings for Colorado Water Quality Control Commission hearing to establish a “dredge-and-fill program” applicable to certain waters within Colorado.
- Assisted in advising client on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s process for addressing petition filed by a public interest group challenging client’s Clean Air Act Title V air permit issued by the state of Colorado.
- Developed briefing in defense of oil and gas operator in lawsuit related to alleged breach of marketing agreement and road maintenance agreement.
