Overview
Casey C. Breese applies his expertise in real estate and commercial litigation to help clients find cost-efficient, effective resolutions to the many issues they may face.
His practice focuses on energy and business litigation. Prior to moving to Colorado, Casey worked as a commercial litigator at a large firm in St. Louis, Missouri. Prior joining Welborn in 2019, he practiced at a downtown Denver firm focusing on energy law. This varied perspective helps him provide clients unique insights.
Casey began his quest for legal excellence in law school. He was a Staff Editor for the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law Journal of Law and Policy, as well as a Teaching Assistant for the legal practice department. While in law school, Casey received the Excellence in Oral Advocacy Award, as well as the Carmody McDonald Legal Practice Excellence Award.
Experience & Results
- Conducted settlement negotiations for clients in contentious employment lawsuit and recovered over $400,000 in unpaid bonuses from former employer
- First-chaired bench trial involving landlord/tenant dispute, obtaining favorable verdict compensating landlord for tenant damages
- Obtained loan judgment exceeding $500,000 and negotiated receivership agreement to increase receiver reporting and promote sale of multi-million dollar commercial property
- Successfully challenged unfavorable contractual attorneys’ fee provision in construction contract resulting in the protection of $950 thousand arbitration award
- Represented energy client in controversial, novel project and provided assistance in partnering with local government to establish goodwill and achieve economic goals
