Sarah Sorum was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Ms. Sorum graduated with honors from the University of Washington with a degree in History in 2003 and then attended the University of Colorado School of Law, graduating in 2007. During law school, Sarah was awarded the Jonathan B. Chase Fellowship, which she used to study international law while working at the United Nations in The Hague. Sarah also interned for Judge Walker Miller of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. Upon graduating, Sarah served as a law clerk to the Honorable John W. Madden, IV of the Denver District Court.  Before joining Welborn Sullivan Meck & Tooley, P.C., Sarah spent seven years at a boutique oil and gas firm in Denver where she gained extensive experience drafting both stand-up and sit-down title opinions covering fee, state and federal minerals.
Sarah handles a variety of operational matters for oil and gas clients. Her practice includes the negotiation and drafting of conveyance, leasing, and surface use contracts as well as settlement agreements pertaining to a variety of contract and real property disputes. Sarah counsels industry clients on the leasing of state and federal property as well as applicable federal, state, county, and city land use regulation and compliance issues.
