Overview

Jens Jensen brings a unique international perspective and rare mix of expertise and experience to his practice in complex litigation and water law.

Jens volunteers as coach for his son’s soccer team and on the board of a local non-profit that supports outdoor education. Jens has over the past years successfully litigated, arbitrated, and mediated a wide range of natural resources and general business disputes from minor breach of contract cases, through multi-party water law litigation, to large class actions. Prior to moving to Colorado, Jens worked at the Embassy of Denmark in London where he dealt with agricultural, renewable energy, security, and judicial reform policies and consular matters.

Experience & Results
  • First chaired bench trial, and obtained judgment in favor of client for the full amount claimed plus attorney’s fees.
  • Successfully defended royalty payment arbitration.
  • Settled royalty payment class arbitration for nuisance value.
  • Settled numerous breach of commercial lease disputes.
  • Prevailed in defense against all major claims on summary judgment in a breach of contract and antitrust lawsuit, settling remaining claims for $0.
  • Obtained dismissal of bankruptcy petition to continue enforcing judgment.
  • Litigated multiple water court cases, both as applicant and as an opposer.
  • Filed amicus brief on behalf of the oil and gas industry in a DC Circuit appeal of a federal lease cancellation.
